Academic Writing
As a student in the Children's Studies program at Eastern Washington University, I focused my academic career on better understanding unqiue intersections of marginalized populations. In my program I focused on the sociology and psychology of childhood as well as education and special education techniques and strategies. At the University of Pennsylvania, my studies focus on International Educational Development and Child Development - specifically cognitive development and nonformal education in South and South East Asia. Professional Portfolio
My professional career has focused on marginalized young people. From HIV prevention to low income after school support, I have worked with several non-profit organizations each with different missions and target populations. SAMPLE 1: STRATEGIC GROWTH PLAN: NORTH IDAHO AIDS COALITION
After implementing the Core Capacaity Assessment Tool (CCAT) with a small non-profit in Idaho, I worked with them to design a strategic growth plan. The plan focuses on growth opportunities outlined by the CCAT.
SAMPLE 2: RADIO SHOW: KYRS - THIN AIR COMMUNITY RADIO
As a volunteer Radio Programmer with KYRS, I host a weekly radio show. QueerSounds airs every Thursday night and plays music by LGBTQ musicians. In addition, we volunteer to support the KYRS diverse community of programmers. Use the icon at the left to hear a sample show I hosted on KYRS.
